This banner was flown over the Westlake football game on Friday. Some parents are mad because they feel the football game is not the place for divisive politics. They assert the banner crossed a line and violated decorum.
But the Superintendent and School Borg (illustrated) have crossed a line. They’ve introduced divisive, collectivist, woke politics into the District, have absolutely lied about it, and have explicitly stated that they will not stop.
They have no problem introducing whiteness as an oppressive ideology, critical consciousness, equity over excellence, radical queer theory, the rejection of a colorblind society, and Kendi’s ugly, unAmerican racist/anti-racist dichotomy. They are committed to Doing the Work until we all submit to their progressive ideology. They have explicitly stated their commitment to social justice activism and are implementing policy that will rot the District from within.
Moreover, the Superintendent and the School Board have no problem spending Eanes tax dollars on a consultant, paying him and renewing his contract to shovel his unscientific unAmerican garbage views into every corner of the District.
Does the consultant have a shiny record of success? Did his little survey come highly recommended with a proven track record? Nope. Eanes is the first district to buy his collectivist snake oil. Can he prove it works? Nope. And why would he? He’d be out of a cushy BS sinecure.
Have you read his survey and final report? I’m embarrassed for the Superintendent and School Board that they paid $140,000 for such amateurish work. Seriously, do they not have any critical reading skills? Why aren’t they embarrassed to offer it up as some profound examination of the District?
So given how profoundly the Superintendent and School Board have failed their fiduciary duty and how profoundly the consultant is taking advantage of the community, forgive me for not getting the vapors over a provocative sky banner that causes a little uncomfortable discussion at a football game.
Here’s the deal, Superintendent and School Board: Don’t want to see a provocative banner at a football game? Then don’t burn through tax dollars to buy a consultant with a neo-Marxist agenda, mmmkay? Don’t start none, won’t be none.
And dear Eanes community, honestly, a sky banner at a football game might be the only way to get some people’s attention. The Superintendent and School Board have gotten away with everything so far and are going to keep pushing until they cross your woke breaking point. Then it will be too late.
If you understand how high the stakes are, how overtly the Superintendent and School Board are willing to lie to you, how grossly uninformed their community supporters are, then you know a provocative banner is a mild response to the sneaky but fundamental attack they are waging on the District.
Don’t believe me? Think this is hyperbole? Then the banner was an urgent plea for you to stop trusting the reassuring but thoroughly uninformed words of your neighbors and dig into the details of the Superintendent’s and School Board’s malfeasance. (Where to start? Here’s a beginning.)
The community supporters of the Superintendent and School Board have no answers to the specifics in this thread. All they can do is vaguely waive it away and cry about decorum.
