With the national spotlight on National School Board Association, it’s a good time to look the state level as well. Here’s the Texas Association of School Boards’s advice to Texas school boards about Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion issues. It’s worth taking a look…
Here’s a TASB worksheet reassuring us that CRT is absolutely not taught in TX schs. Blah blah CRT is legal theory blah blah. Anyone who’s studied the issue knows that CRT is woke ideology + praxis—& TASB is ignoring the praxis in order to obfuscate
But here’s the webpage in which TASB gives advice on how to implement DEI with recommendations to 4 woke CRT organizations.
Screenshots for posterity:
All of the TASB DEI recommendations go to organizations whose purpose is to put CRT into practice in the schools (praxis). (Links posted below w a representative screenshot from each site.)
First recommended resource: Racial Equity Tools
Second recommended resource: Dismantling Racism Works, where it explicitly says CRT.
Third recommended resource: Teaching Tolerance, now called Learning for Justice, run by the SPLC.
BTW, In 2019 Eanes ISD sent 4 teachers to a class entitled Social Justice Teaching 101. The Eanes School Board intended to implement it across the district (and would have succeeded, but for that meddling covid).
Also Queer Theory . . .
Fourth recommended resource: Intercultural Development Association
Would love to hear TASB officials explain the discrepancy between their claim that CRT isn’t happening in Texas and their explicit advice on how to make it happen.
